A Sweet Update from Our Beloved Dairy Queen

Hey Nebagamon family! We’ve got some news about one of our favorite spots in town—the Dairy Queen! For decades, this local gem has been the cherry on top of Lake Nebagamon summers, serving up treats to campers, staff, and alumni. Cruiser Day wouldn’t be the same without it.

Recently, Dairy Queen Corporate has been pressuring the owners to switch to a year-round operation. In a small town with cold winters, this could make things tough. The owners are exploring other options, including rebranding if they can’t stay seasonal.

This is where we come in! Let’s sprinkle some love on our Dairy Queen by sharing our favorite memories and ideas through this Google Form the Lake Nebagamon Dairy Queen shared on their Facebook Page. And, help churn out new name ideas in case they go independent!

Even Sweeter: our very own alumni and staff member, Jim “J.K.” Koretz, was featured in a WDIO ABC News story sharing his passion and support for our DQ. Be sure to check it out!

No matter what happens, we can’t cone-ceal our love for this place. Whether it’s a Dairy Queen or something new, Cruiser Day ice cream trips are here to stay!
