Spring Camperships Fundraiser and Alumni Cohort Challenge!

With the successful completion of the Keeping the Fires Burning Campaign, we remain in awe of the generosity and commitment of our Camp family, and all that we can accomplish together. While that effort focused on Camp’s long-term future, our Camperships program remains an essential, ongoing priority.

For those newer to Camp, Camperships is our financial aid program, enabling children from all backgrounds to attend Camp Nebagamon for 4 or 8 weeks, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. Since its founding in 1991, the program has awarded over $3 million in financial aid.

Through Camperships, boys who might not otherwise have the opportunity—including campers from alumni families and new camp families alike—can experience the friendships, growth, and joy of a summer at Camp Nebagamon. Awards are determined annually based on each family’s financial circumstances, and thanks to the generosity of our donors, campers can receive recurring support for every year they attend Camp.

The program is central to our commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive Camp community, and one of the most meaningful ways we live out a core belief: This Shall Be A Place Of Welcome For All.

Introducing the Spring camperships Fundraiser and Alumni Cohort Challenge, April 13-24:

This spring, we’re trying something new. Our goal is simple: help send 10 campers to Camp Nebagamon this summer.

How it works:
Think virtual tug-o-war. Your team is your 9th grade cohort. Each donation counts as a “tug” on the rope. Make a gift to the Camperships program during the spring fundraiser April 13-24 and select your 9th grade year when you give.

If you weren’t at Camp for your ninth grade summer, you’ll select the year that would have been your ninth grade summer.

We’ll share leaderboard updates throughout the two-week challenge and recognize two winning cohorts:

  • Participation Winner – the cohort with the highest percentage of alumni giving
  • Impact Winner – the cohort that raises the most in support of Camperships

Bonus: We’ll be giving a special shoutout to the cabin with the highest overall alumni participation across all years.

Members of the two winning cohorts will receive a limited-edition Camp Nebagamon alumni ball cap and the joy of helping a camper spend a life-changing summer at Camp Nebagamon.

Looking for a reason to reconnect with old camp friends? Feeling fired up and want to get a head start? Email Katie@campnebagamon.com and we’ll share a list to help you rally your cohort together. We also recommend checking out the Camp Nebagamon Alumni Facebook page as a way to connect.

While the alumni challenge adds a layer of friendly competition, you do not need to be an alum to participate. Whether you’re a current camp family, a parent, a friend of Camp, or someone who believes in making camp accessible to every child, your gift helps send a camper to Camp Nebagamon for an unforgettable summer.

More to come soon!
