Welcome to the Team, Jeremy!

As we prepare for our 97th camping season, we are thrilled to announce that Jeremy Nordin-Berghuis will step into the role of Head Caretaker at Camp Nebagamon following Andy Mack’s retirement and will join us as the Incoming Head Caretaker beginning this spring. Jeremy is a familiar face at Camp, having served our community for 11 summers between 2009 and 2025 as our Program Director, Waterfront Director, Arts and Crafts Specialist, and Target Shooting Specialist. For the past two summers Jeremy served as a seasonal Caretaker, working alongside Andy and Joe.
Jeremy grew up in the Northwoods, just down Highway 53 in Spooner, Wisconsin. He brings to Camp a unique blend of technical mastery, artistic vision, and a heart for youth development. After attending University of Wisconsin-River Falls and earning a Bachelors in Art Education with minors in Ceramics and Psychology, Jeremy developed a diverse professional background in wide-ranging trades such as carpentry, woodworking, machining, and welding, as well as working in professional arts, owning and operating his own pottery business and managing a retail pottery supply company.
Jeremy’s background will allow him to carry forward the tradition of stewardship, craftsmanship, and care for our community that has defined the Nebagamon Caretaking team. Beyond his technical skills, Jeremy is deeply committed to our Camp Family and to working with children. He has spent years at Nebagamon mentoring campers and staff alike, and has also served as the Youth Development Coordinator at a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth. Jeremy is dedicated to fostering a safe, welcoming environment for every child that attends Camp Nebagamon, and his expertise as a childcare professional as well as his technical skills will make him an enormous asset to our full-time team.
Jeremy brings with him an infectious energy and sense of joy to Camp. In his years at Nebagamon, he has always been the first to buy into the magic of a theme day, in many cases having invented the day himself, and has been consistently ready to fully commit with costumes and face paint. Whether dreaming up a good-hearted practical joke or folding a cabin group into a creative project, Jeremy has always gone the extra mile to make sure Camp remains a place of laughter and wonder. He reminds us all that the job at hand is enriching the lives of children, and enrichment includes fun!
Jeremy views the position of Head Caretaker as an opportunity to give back to a place that has already given him so much. He is a steward who will preserve our long-standing traditions while bringing fresh ideas to improve the Camp experience. Camp is incredibly fortunate to have Jeremy’s steady hands and full heart leading our Caretaking team, and leading throughout Camp!
